VIDEO: Breakfast with Ralphie – March 27th, 1994

This exhibit provides a rare look at a live broadcast with WSBA morning man Ralph Lockwood from March 27th, 1994. “Breakfast with Ralphie” is on-the-road in downtown York at Sparky’s News with York Mayor Charlie Robertson and Accuweather’s Elliot Abrams. The video begins with Dave Russell back at the station handing off to Ralph who along with Mayor Robertson entertains the audience with a series of Irish sing-alongs.

Not only will you see the WSBA mobile unit but this video has a surprise ending as someone ends up in handcuffs!

Sponsor Magazine Print Advertisement – April 1959

Attracting national advertising dollars was a cornerstone of WSBA’s revenue. There were many publications and magazines in the twentieth century that served national advertising buyers. One such publication was Sponsor Magazine. In this exhibit we present a full-page advertisement for WSBA from the April 25th, 1959 edition announcing their partnership with national representative Robert E. Eastman & Co. It’s interesting to note that in 1959, the York-Lancaster-Harrisburg market was ranked 27th in the United States, compared to number 43 in 2022.
